Welcome to Tales of a Primary Teacher

Hello Blogging World,

I have found that I often turn to my favorite bloggers for new and innovative ideas to implement in my classroom over the past 5 years. As a new teacher I was always nervous about sharing my new ideas with others because I did not have as much experience as others. Now that I have been in education since 2009, I am excited to begin to share my ideas with the world of blogging.

On this blog, I hope to share lesson ideas, TpT products, link with other bloggers, share ideas on how to integrate technology, and many other things.

Here is a little about me. I am a mommy and wife. I have a beautiful and fun loving 4 year old daughter who has really shaped me into a better teacher because I always try to talk with my students the way I would hope her teachers speak to her. I have been married for 8 wonderful years and we live in Sunny California, where I was born and raised. I work in an amazing school within the city I live in, which is a plus, especially with California traffic. I feel blessed to have the life that I have with my beautiful family.

Now about my classroom and teaching experience. I have taught 1st and 2nd grade in two different school districts and have a love for both grade levels. I currently am in my 2nd year of teaching 1st first! I love this time of year when my students begin to really become readers and really blossom. I have a passion for using technology in my classroom and to get more technology into my students hands, I have had multiple projects funded on Donorschoose.org. I am currently in a Master's program with American College of Education and I am obtaining my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Digital Teaching and Learning.

I also have begun to sell products, that I have created for my classroom, on Teachers Pay Teachers. I enjoying collaborating and sharing ideas because it is all about our students, and increasing student achievement and engagement. If teachers work collaboratively, students will reap the benefits.

I hope you enjoy following me as I begin my blogging journey!
